Reading

We read the article, How to Make a Rocking Horse Card, and then we followed the instructions to make one for someone special in our family.

We read the book, Pens and Pencils, and found out about all the different tools people used in the olden days to write, like slate boards and chalk and ink pens.  Then we compared the olden days with the present and thought of all the different ways we can write in 2016.  Our challenge was to write our name using ten different media (some people couldn't choose, so they did eleven!)

We read the book, The Impossible Bridge.  After we had studied all the different bridge designs, we made our own out of paper.  We made a mobilo vehicle to test its strength.

We painted the road.
We read the book, Race to the Finish, and then we made a race track in Room 19 just like the real one in the book.
We made the pit stop and the stands out of Lego.
Then we put it all together to make our race track.

We read the journal article, Moving House, and then, after we had drawn a flow chart to show the events in sequence, was transported out Lego house on a Mobilo truck, just like in the book.
